Phase Change Materials (PCM) Specifications
Aegis Phase Change Materials come in various specific temperatures varying between -30°C to + 90°C. These can be classified into two categories: organic and inorganic. Organic phase change materials generally consist of various paraffins, waxes, and alcohols, while inorganic phase change materials are primarily hydrated salts. In addition, a variety of encapsulation techniques have been developed for use in numerous applications and include HDPE panels, HDPE spheres, multilayer pouches and pads.
Encapsulation Specifications
HDPE profiles/Panels
HDPE Panels have been exclusively designed in different dimensions and capacity. These rigid profiles have cavities filled with PCM. The panels should be installed in a horizontal plane with angular mounting to provide a high value energy saving supplement to proprietary thermal management systems.
HDPE/PP Spheres
By encapsulating PCM into small spherical rigid balls, the properties and benefits of PCM can be gainfully utilized for applications like boilers, solar water heaters, room heaters etc.
Multilayer Pouches & Pads
This is most flexible mode for PCM packaging. The material used for these pouches are multilayer films (PET/Aluminum/PET) used to impart strength, durability, and integrity. These PCM pouches may be utilized in material transportation containers for temperature sensitive goods, apparel, and hot pads as well as be utilized within central air conditioning ducts and false roofing of commercial complexes.
