Aegis offers savE™ HS 29 and its uniquely designed High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) panels filled with PCM to serve the complex heating and cooling needs of modular shelters. Modular Shelters are often placed in the harshest, most remote locations. The use of phase change materials provides a high-rate of energy savings, cost reduction for maintenance and operational expenses of generators, and provides fault-tolerance when used in conjunction with complimentary systems such as heat exchangers, air conditioning units, and fans.

Aegis provides low-temperature PCM containers as a solution to storage and transport of temperature-sensitive materials such as those found in the food & beverage and biopharmaceutical industries. Instead of requiring diesel-operated, refrigerated vehicles for perishables, meats, milk, or biopharmaceuticals, materials may be placed inside of the container and protected from damage and decay.

Heating Applications

Boilers, Power Plants to Swimming Pools and Hot Water Heaters all can use the ingenuity of Phase Change Materials to cut cost, save energy, and be environmentally conscious. Typically these systems operate at high-temperatures. Any energy created below 100°C is normally wasted. However, if stored, this energy can be utilized for pre-heating the media essential for the systems operation or for other applications. Aegis savE™ HS 89 is ideally suited for such energy storage. Encapsulated in the form of HDPE/PP spheres and placed in a tank supported with heat pump, the PCM absorbs the low temperature energy for additional purposes.

Solar Water Heaters can be more energy efficient and provide longer service hours with the use of phase change materials. When Aegis PCM savE™ HS 89 or savE™ HS 58 supports the jacketing lining around the tank or place in the form of spheres inside the tank, the heat usually lost through normal operation can be retained from much longer durations.

Cooling Applications

Aegis PCM savE™ HS 23N & savE™ HS 7N is an effective Cold Storage back-up method for frozen foods, beverages, ice creams, flowers, and perishables cold in the event of power or refrigeration failure. These PCM profiles can also be applied to refrigerated vehicles to prevent damage to products during transportation or extended storage without power.

 

Phase Change Materials applied to apparel and fabrics provide individuals working in extreme weather conditions, such as snowy mountain peaks or deserts, relief from the elements. Aegis uses it’s PCM save™ HS 24 micro-encapsulated, coated to fabrics, or used in soft pouch jackets in its apparel applications to alleviate temperature related discomfort felt by soldiers, sportsmen, or field labourers while in the course of activity.

PCM supported Hot Pads create a dry warm compress for use as a natural pain reliever. Athletes or individuals who suffer from chronic conditions, such as overuse injuries, will apply these pads at the body’s site of pain. The heat helps relax and loosen tissues and stimulates blood flow to the area, thus, helping to relieve discomfort.

Aegis uses the most flexible mode of Phase Change Materials packaging, multilayer films (PET/Aluminum/PET), to impart strength, durability, and integrity in its hot pad pouches. Aegis Hot Pads come in specific designs and sizes for use at ankles, elbows, and general use pads.
